Henry and Mudge in the Sparkle Days by Cynthia Rylant

Do you like winter when you can play in the snow? Henry and Mudge loved winter because the snow looked like sparkles. Mudge barked at Henry because he didn’t recognize Henry in his winter clothes. Mudge was excited when Henry took his mask off. They went outside and ran around in circles. Henry made a snow angels and Mudge messed them up. Henry Huggins by Beverly Cleary

Have you ever wanted a pet and then you found one? If that answer is yes, you have a lot in common with my book “Henry Huggins”. Henry is the main character. He found a dog and named it Ribsy. Henry called his mom to say he’d be at home soon. At first he didn’t want the dog. When they were on the bus, Ribsy made everything fall. Ribsy got them kicked off of 3 buses. Then one day Henry went to the Pet Store and got guppies! The guppies had babies then those babies had babies. Soon he did not have space to walk! When he ran out of fish bowls he used fruit jars. Have you ever made a big mistake? Have you mixed up letters like Anastasia? She makes mistakes all the time. She threw away her dad's New York Times. Her brother has a cat that the father did not like. Her dog looked like a mop and it was sick. The dog sleeps on the floor in the kitchen and is very sad. She had to clean up after it, walk, and feed it. She cleans the poop with the plastic bag. She had to go to school and she had glasses that were red and people made fun of her. Strider by Beverly Cleary

Have your parents ever been divorced? If so you are similar to Leigh of the book Strider by Beverly Cleary. Leigh goes to a beach and finds a dog. The dog goes home with Leigh and Leigh names it Strider. Leigh likes to practice running with Strider. Leigh’s dad will not answer the phone and it makes him sad. So find out how Leigh gets over being sad when you read Strider.

Beyoncė by Molly O’ Mara

Do you know who Mrs. Knowles is? Mrs. Knowles has been in show bueness for a long time. Mrs. Knowles started singing at a young age. She and her friends practiced singing & dancing. Mrs. Knowles played in “After Carmen: A Hip Hopera.” She made songs with Jay-Z called Crazy in Love & Déjà vu. Mrs. Knowles was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. She released her first solo album Dangerously in Love. She was in “The Pink Panther & the Fighing Temptations.” Mrs. Knowles helped others when hurricane Katrina came. Read the book Beyoncė by Molly O’ Mara to find out what Mrs. Knowles and Beyoncė have in common!

Do you get bullied? Greg Hefley get’s bullied a lot. Greg’s brother tricks him into waking up and getting ready for school but school doesn’t start until 2 week’s. Later Greg meets a crazy kid named Fregley. Manny is Greg’s little brother and Roderick is Greg’s older brother. Manny found one of Roderick’s magazines then rip’s out a page and brings it to daycare. While Greg is in school he wants to join a wrestling group but he stinks. Wrestling didn’t work so he tried out for a play the Wizard of Oz. He got a part as a tree. After his audition a mean girl named Patty got the part as Dorothy. Greg hates her, she yell’s at him all the time, and he get’s mad. Can Greg do the play with out getting mad find out this and more in Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

Skinny-bones by Barbara Park

Have you ever been bullied? Alex Frankovitch has been bullied, too. T.J. Stoner, a fantastic baseball player, likes to embarrass Alex and even calls him a sack of “Skinny-bones.” One time T.J. invited the whole entire class to watch his team “mop up the floor” against Alex’s team. T.J. wanted them to see him win his 125th game in a row and watch Alex’s team suffer another winless season. Not only did the whole class show up, so did News Channel 6 with their cameras!
